MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear friends,
It has been an honor and a pleasure to serve this chapter as your president for the last year.
I offer my heart-felt thanks to the wonderful team that has served so faithfully and so well with me this year: president-elect Dave Wagers, secretary Kelly Cooper-Slayton, treasurer Karl Heckman, membership chair Bob Renggli, marketing director Carolyn Newman, administrative chair Kristy Schnabel, programs co-chairs Colleen Bourassa and Feroshia Knight, and past presidents Vicky Trabosh and Laura Kaiser.
This year, as in previous years, the leadership team has brought special gifts to the chapter, and I look forward in anticipation to 2007 as the new team leads our chapter to another year of education, gratitude, service, and fellowship that we enjoy in the NW Coaches Association.
The votes have been cast, and it is my pleasure and privilege to announce the 2007 NWCA Leadership Team! Congratulations to:
Dave Wagers, President
Bob Renggli, President-Elect (Vice President)
Miriam Vareldzis, Treasurer
Kay Fontana, Secretary
Carolyn Newman, Marketing Director
Pauline Marchand, Membership Co-Chair
Jill Stryker, Membership Co-Chair
Feroshia Knight, Programs Co-Chair
Colleen Bourassa, Programs Co-Chair
I wish you all a banner year!
And finally, my thanks and appreciation to all of you. I will not say "goodbye" because I'm not going anywhere; I plan to remain an active member of the NWCA, continuing to enjoy the many benefits that our community offers to coaches.
Until we meet again...
Warmly, and in gratitude,
Ronnie
2007 HOLIDAY PARTY REMINDER (MEMBERS ONLY)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The NWCA is ready to celebrate the season at our annual holiday party.

Dave Wagers
NWCA President Elect

NWCA MEMBERSHIP CONNECTIONS - December 2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Membership Leadership is alive and well for 2007. Please welcome our two newest volunteers for the crucial hospitality functions of the Northwest Coaches Association: JILL STRYKER and PAULINE MARCHAND. We are so thankful for your generous spirit.
The dual characteristics of CARING & INCLUSIVITY sum up the spirit of our membership team.
Caring: that unique ability to make a "connection" with another human being at a deeper level so as to cause a positive energy for growth. A name tag with a smile or a receipt with a helpful hint or significant introduction to another team leader is the magic that makes NWCA so energizing for new and evolving coaches alike.
Inclusivity: that non-judgmental, non comparing, uplifting presence that welcomes another person into a trusting environment of nurture and celebration. Coaches must practice what they preach--walk the talk. At our monthly meetings every single person in attendance has the opportunity to exhibit and be energized by that force-field of renewed spirit that only comes from being accepted as we are right now.
Come as you are and let us help you build a rewarding and exciting career in coaching others to the greatness for which they were destined.
Bob Renggli
NWCA PARTY: DECEMBER 12, 2006
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MEETING DETAILS

Tis the season to connect, create and enjoy the company of your fellow NW Coaches Association members!

This year's theme is: Coaches are the Lights of the World

In honor of the holiday, we are exchanging small gifts. If you wish to participate, please bring a wrapped mystery gift ($5 value) to exchange at our party. Example ideas could be candles, books, candy etc. Here's how the exchange will work:

The Gifts
This party's gift theme is "Coaches are the Lights of the World" so each gift must reflect the theme.
The value of the gifts to be $5.
The gift should be new, and something someone would actually want or use.
The gift should be wrapped before arriving to the party. Gift bags are OK only if a tissue-wrapped item is inside. This ensures each player has something to unwrap or open, rather than simply reach into a gift bag.
As guests arrive to the party, the gifts will be placed on a gift exchange table.

Game Play
Each guest who wishes to participate must contribute a gift.
Each participating guest draws a number and holds onto that slip of paper.
On the first turn, the guest with paper slip #1 chooses a gift, opens it, and all admire it.
On the second turn, the guest with paper slip #2 gets the choice of "stealing" #1's unwrapped gift or choosing a wrapped one. If #2 steals #1's gift, then #1 must choose and open a wrapped gift.
On the third turn, the guest with paper slip #3 gets the choice of "stealing" either #1's or #2's unwrapped gifts, or choosing a wrapped one.

Turns and conclusion
If a gift is stolen from you, you can steal a gift (within limits, described below), or open a wrapped one.
The turn proceeds until a wrapped gift is chosen and opened.
A gift cannot be immediately stolen back from the guest who just stole it.
The fourth "owner" of a gift gets to keep it, meaning the gift is "dead" after it has been stolen three times.
"Owners" of "live" gifts must keep them visible and hold them up when requested by a potential thief.
The gift exchange ends when the last wrapped gift is chosen and opened.

We look forward to seeing you there!!!

Sincerely,
Programs Team:
Colleen Bourassa
Feroshia Knight

A NOTE ABOUT UNWANTED EMAIL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We know that some of you have been getting bulk email from fellow coaches, and perhaps some of it is unwelcome. In order to discourage this, we've added a link to a message about spam on the top of the Current Members page: http://www.nwcoaches.org/current_members about the CAN Spam Act. Please check it out to make sure that you are in compliance. Thanks!
Thanks for the Experience!
I'll be ending my time as the Virtual Assistant of the NWCA at the end of the year. Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this great group of people. I've made so many good friends, and learned a lot as well.
I'll be training my replacement in December, and it's my hope that the transition will be seamless to you. Please continue to send emails to this address: help@nwcoaches. org for member profile updates.
Warm regards,
Kristy Schnabel
